Al Wa’ab City officially launches its Central District

Doha: Al Wa’ab City has officially launched its Phase 2, the construction for the Central District of one of Qatar’s most luxurious urban mixed-use developments. Al Wa’ab City is a 1.2 sq km city within a city that integrates, community amenities, choice of retail, and entertainment venues with luxury villas, contemporary apartments as well as hotel and serviced apartments.

The launch ceremony held recently was attended by Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser bin Khaled Al Thani, Chairman of NBK, Abdulla bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Group CEO of QNB, Sheikh Jassim bin Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, DCEO of Al Wa’ab City, and other officials.

Al Wa’ab City development is divided into three districts: the Northern and Southern Districts which have both been already successfully completed as part of the Phase One of the development project, and the newly launched Central District which will be constructed as part of the City’s Phase 2 with a target completion date by 2025.

The Northern District includes Nour Al Wa’ab luxury villas which are allocated for sale and Janayin Al Wa’ab villas which are now available for lease; while the Southern District includes Ma’arid and Makatib Al Waab which consist of 9 buildings primly located on Salwa Road offering 43,099 m2 of showrooms/offices.

Al Wa’ab City’s Central District will consist of a community hub with 38,000 m2 of retail and entertainment. It will also incorporate 9 residential towers, a hotel and serviced apartments; offering over 1,500 residential units which will house more than 8,000 residents when the project is completed.

The Central District will also feature 3 Districts: Entertainment District, Shopping District, and Community Hub District, all providing multipurpose services and community experiences that cater to Al Wa’ab City residents and beyond.

The Community Hub will be linked by a 4-lane boulevard to the residential element of the Central District. The residential towers are designed to infuse a warm feel of community linking the areas via court yards that offer green area, playgrounds and much more for the residents.
