Mortal remains of eight more Ras Laffan victims repatriated to India

Doha, Qatar: The mortal remains of eight more Indian nationals who lost their lives in the Ras Laffan incident were repatriated to India on Friday, June 26, 2026.

The Embassy of India in Doha announced the repatriation in an early morning post on Saturday, adding that the mortal remains of four of the 12 Indian nationals who died in the incident had been repatriated on June 25. 

The embassy thanked the Qatari authorities, Indian community organisations and government authorities in India for their prompt support.

The embassy also said Ambassador HE Vipul and embassy officials also met some of the injured nationals on Friday in Alkhor. 

"The injured have all received appropriate medical attention, for which the Embassy thanks Qatari authorities and employer company representatives," the embassy said.
