Toronto: Senegal kept their hopes of reaching the World Cup last 32 alive with a 5-0 victory over Iraq in their final Group Nine match.

Habib Diallo, Ismaila Sarr, Pape Gueye, who scored twice, and Iliman Ndiaye were all on target as Senegal finished third in the group with three points and remained in contention to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams.

Iraq played most of the match with 10 men after defender Rebin Sulaka was sent off in the 13th minute for denying SAdio Mane a clear goalscoring opportunity.

The defeat left Iraq bottom of the group without a point after losing all three of their matches.
