Tunisia’s Jemma starts training with Al Sailiya

Issam Jemma has started training with his new club Al Sailiya. The Tunisian forward who was roped in by Al Sailiya’s head coach Sami Trabelsi said he was delighted to be with his new team-mates. 

DOHA: Issam Jemma the new Tunisian forward brought to Al Sailiya by head coach Sami Trabelsi has been training regularly with his new team-mates since joining. 
The squad is now working on their physical fitness and conditioning leading up to the new Qatar Stars League season.
The new star said that he had been received well by the club and was exited to finally be with his new team-mates here in Qatar.
“The hospitality shown towards me has been great,” he said.
 “The club’s management as well as some of the senior players have all been very welcoming and supportive. I know the region well because I have played in Kuwait for a number of years and therefore I feel I can settle in quickly here in Qatar and hopefully give my all of my efforts for the team. It’s great to finally meet my team-mates.”
Meanwhile, the newly-built Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium - the home base of Lekhwiya - will host the Sheikh Jassim Cup final between Al Sadd and Lekhwiya, it was announced yesterday. 
Sheikh Jassim Cup is the season-opening football tournament in Qatar.  The game between Al Sadd and Lekhwiya - the Qatar Stars League QSL) champions - will be a one-off affair this year.
The final will be played on August 13. On August 11, QFA officials will meet counterparts from QSL to hammer out the final arrangements.
The pre-final press conference involving coaches and the players from each side will take place on August 12 at Al Bidda Tower.
Sheikh Jassim Cup was first held in 1977 and have been a regular feature on the Qatar football calendar every season. 
Al Sadd have won the event 12 times while Al Arabi have emerged champions on six occasions.  Qatar SC, Al Wakrah and Al Rayyan have won the event 4 times each.
