Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar has welcomed the start of unloading the decaying FSO Safer tanker in the Red Sea, by the United Nations.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s appreciation for the efforts of the United Nations and international partners in addressing one of the most pressing environmental issues by preventing oil spillage from the tanker in the waters of the Red Sea.
The ministry expressed Qatar’s pride in its contribution to supporting the rescue operations coordinated by the United Nations to prevent the catastrophic spill and affirmed its full readiness to support all international efforts aimed at building a safer and more sustainable future for all.
