Doha, Qatar: The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), continuing its commitment to serving the expatriate Indian community in Qatar, successfully organised its second Blood Platelet Donation Camp in consecutive months in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) at the Qatar National Blood Donation Center.

The initiative was organised to raise awareness about the critical importance of blood platelet donation and to encourage greater community participation in this life-saving cause. Platelets are essential for patients undergoing cancer treatment, organ transplants, major surgeries, and for those suffering from blood disorders and traumatic injuries.

As platelets have a very short shelf life, maintaining an adequate supply depends on the continued support of voluntary donors. The campaign highlighted the invaluable role that voluntary donors play in saving lives and strengthening Qatar’s healthcare system.

More than 60 volunteers from various Indian states came forward to donate blood platelets, demonstrating the Indian community’s spirit of service and humanitarian commitment. ICBF President Shanavas Bava delivered the presidential address and highlighted the significance of ICBF’s unique initiative of organizing regular blood platelet donation camps. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the volunteers and emphasised the importance of sustaining such campaigns through continued community involvement.
