Policeman suspended after firing during student protest in India's Bihar

New Delhi, India: An Indian policeman in the eastern state of Bihar was suspended after a video of him firing an AK-47 against protesting students went viral on social media, multiple local media reports said Monday.

The policeman used the assault rifle while chasing the protesting students during the July 25 Bihar Bandh protests in Siwan district, about 139 km northwest of Patna, the capital city of Bihar.

At least three protesters were reportedly injured during the clashes in the district.
