Swedish furniture retailer Ikea, a member of Al Futtaim group of companies, unveiled their 62nd annual catalogue — launched simultaneously in 44 countries around the world.

Within Qatar, this is Ikea’s second catalogue launch and will be distributed across Doha over 10 days.

Available in 30 languages across the world, the Ikea catalogue for Qatar will be available in English and Arabic. The catalogue introduces a selection of new products into the Ikea range across 324 pages.

Almost 250,000 copies of the Ikea catalogue are available for Qatar, of which, over 190,000 will be distributed door to door delivering home furnishing inspiration into people’s homes across the country.

John Kersten, Managing Director, Ikea-UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman, said: “The Ikea catalogue is our main connection to our customers. It is the oldest Ikea tool to reach out to the people who love and are interested in our brand.

“Every year we endeavour to offer new and creative solutions more relevant to our customers. The New 2014 Ikea catalogue is a combination of all of those efforts and a beginning to a new year of exciting ideas and inspiration. It serves as a preparation tool for people planning their shopping list ahead and is an invitation to many people to visit the store.

“This year we have looked at the youngest and most important members of our family. We believe that every moment is special and needs to be cherished. The 2014 Ikea catalogue aims to create spaces that extend the playground from beyond a child’s room and across the home in its entirety. It encourages bringing the family together through simple activities and children’s involvement to create special moments. We hope that our product range and solutions will inspire our customers to engage children in every activity through the day,” added John.

It lists close to 1,800 products with prices that stay true for an entire year.

Also included is an overview of services available at  Ikea and a dedicated spread illustrating offerings at Ikea Restaurant and exit Bistro as well as delicacies available at the Swedish Food Market, with many new and locally adapted surprises during the year.

The 2014 Ikea catalogue is also available as a free mobile device application for iOs and Android systems.  A digital version can be viewed online at www.ikea.qa.
