Beirut: FIA vice-president Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Attiyah (pictured) reached Beirut yesterday to attend the start of the 37th Lebanon Rally, which kicks off today.
He reviewed the latest preparations related to the rally and held some meetings with a number of FIA-registered unions, clubs and stakeholders to set out the main guidelines for the next planned meeting, which will be held in Beirut in the beginning of the next month.
Al Attiyah said: “We are fully energetic and optimistic in Beirut among our brothers in Lebanon. As I said before, the Lebanon Rally is a success before it starts…I am personally fully acknowledged with all preparations done.”
Al Attiyah also assured that all FIA Middle East-registered clubs were trying seriously to cooperate among themselves. “Today we see an effective participation from Gulf countries in the International Lebanon Rally 2014, as Qatar participates with 5 competitors, Kuwait and Lebanon as well, all these positive factors contribute in developing the social anticipation and sport support,” he said.
Al Attiyah said his goal was to take motor sport in the MENA region up to the world standard.
