DOHA: The biggest portable dancing fountain in the region is the most captivating sight at the Qatar International Exhibition for Pool & Spa (QPS 2012) which opened yesterday at the Doha Exhibition Center.
A mood of serenity engulfs every visitor who enters the expo with the sound and sight of cascading waterfalls, pools and Jacuzzis but the dancing fountain is a crowd drawer with 30 nozzles releasing water spectacularly to the beat of music and variation of lights.
The 12-metre wide portable dancing fountain is brought to Doha by Belhasa Projects, the main sponsor of the event.
“There might be some fountains similar to this, but smaller ones. No company has come up with a portable dancing fountain of this scale,” said Greg Garner (pictured), CEO of Belhasa Projects, adding the fountain is excellent for weddings and corporate functions.
Having been invited to be the main sponsor of QPS 2012 came as no surprise for Belhasa, said Garner, “because we are a very diverse company and we are the biggest swimming pool builder in the region and among the biggest in the world.”
Though it started 32 years ago, the company has just been in Doha this year and in just six months it secured many projects worth QR17m mainly in schools, hotels and government projects, said Garner, who expressed excitement about Qatar’s progress. The Peninsula
