DOHA: Some of the best companies in the pool and spa industry are showcasing the latest line-up of their products and services at the inaugural Qatar International Exhibition for Pool & Spa (QPS 2012) which opened yesterday at the Doha Exhibition Center.
Nasser Ahmed Al Meer, Board Member of Qatar Chamber cut the ribbon in the presence of Miss Earth Lebanon Nathaly Farraj, representatives of diplomatic missions and other officials.
“The diversification of Qatari economy requires many different companies to come to Qatar to present their various products and services. Qatar Pool and Spa exhibition is particularly important for our market as Qatar witnesses massive projects to beautify all its parks, as well as the emergence of spas and demand for swimming pools,” said Al Meer.
With a plethora of projects coming up in the hospitality, wellness and sports sectors expected to require pool and spa products and services, the expo was already a success even at its opening as organisers had announced the second edition to be held from November 6 to 8 next year.
“This expo is needed now and I think there would even be more products during the expo next year, something bigger than this,” added Al Meer. About 70 exhibitors from 16 countries have put up their stands and pavilions at the three-day expo teeming with products such as sauna, Jacuzzi, beauty products and tools, massage equipment, pool building materials, underwater and water attraction systems, cleaning systems and fountains among others.
Watermaster, a leading company in water treatment technology, is showcasing its latest Hydrotherapy Pool which provides a variety of hydro massage treatment through its several features which can be can be customised according to what a particular customer wants, said Pierre Boueri, General Manager.
The Hydrotherapy Pool is priced between QR250,000 and QR1m according to the size and features. Also showcased are a special Jacuzzi for the entire family priced at QR80,000 and sauna which costs between QR40,000 and QR45,000.
The exhibition also includes other events such as daily Dancing Fountain Show by Belhasa Projects; programmes for professionals in the field of swimming pools, water features, beauty and spa and workshops for the public on the latest information and tips on water treatment, machinery, beauty, hair, body and skin care.
The International Beauty Academy (Tajmeel) is also holding workshops with professional instructors on spa, aroma therapy, and safety and security instructions in spas and swimming pools. QPS will be held yearly until 2015, after which it will be organised biannually. The expo is open to the public from 3pm to 10 pm until tomorrow.
