NEW YORK: Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa met Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders on the sidelines of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported on Friday.
The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote political consultation between the ministries of foreign affairs in the two countries.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa and Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Didier Reynders agreed to back their countries’ respective nominees to the UN agencies and other international organisations, according to BNA.
They reviewed relations of friendship and cooperation bonding Bahrain and Belgium, discussing ways of bolstering bilateral ties further.
They also discussed the developments of the Syrian crisis and key issues featuring on the agenda of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly. (QNA)
