DOHA: Teachers International Consultancy (TIC), an international recruitment company has appointed a representative in Doha to support the growing number of expatriate teachers it is sending to Qatar.

Hailey Fazekas (pictured), has joined TIC Recruitment to provide expert help and advice to new and experienced expatriate teachers working in the country. “The expatriate teaching community in Qatar is huge,” says Andrew Wigford, Managing Director of Teachers International Consultancy.

“When you are new to a country that you’re going to be living and working in, it can be daunting at times. Having someone like Hailey, who has lived and worked there for several years and knows exactly what these teachers will be going through, can be a crucial source of reassurance as well as information. It also provides an important resource for the schools who now know that there’s counselling and advice beyond the immediate needs of the school community to support their new recruits.”

Hailey was a teacher at the Qatar Foundation. She has lived in Qatar between 2009 and 2011.  Teachers International Consultancy provides a recruitment, placement and advisory service for qualified English-speaking teachers from all over the world who are searching for jobs in international schools. .

A total 315,000 teachers are currently working in international schools around the world. Over 100,000 of these are teachers from the United Kingdom. Right now the Middle East is the most popular region for international schools with 128 in Qatar alone, 122 of which are in Doha. The Peninsula
