Doha: The Area 4 Toastmasters of Division A, District 116 held their first confluence meeting of year 2020 through ZOOM Meeting application from 7pm to 9pm. Three Clubs including Galfar Al Misnad Toastmasters Club (GTC) together with PSME Toastmasters (Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers) and the RCS Debaters makes up Area 4 and is under the leadership of Current Area Director, Alfonso Belito C. Betita, Past President of Galfar Toastmaster Club.
The three clubs cooperated and polled their efforts and resources together in the preparation leading to the success of the said confluence meeting which was attended by 30 members and guests. Area Confluence meeting is a joint meeting by all clubs under the one specific area of District 116 – the number 1 toastmaster district in the world and covering the area in Doha, Qatar.
The Confluence Meeting proper commenced with the recitation of virtual meeting rules by Jeomedes Llanera of PTC followed by the joint opening of the meeting by Area 4 Director Alfonso Belito C Betita together with Subramanya Hebbagelu – GTC President, George Philip Leonardo – PTC President and Bidya Mohanty – VPE of RCS Toastmasters Club acting in behalf of their president.
The official confluence meeting opening was followed by the welcome address of the Area Director and the Consequent Introduction of the Division Director, Subair Pandavath who presented the report on the current status of the clubs under Area 4 with due consideration to the established success plan.
The successful meeting sailed through under the helm of Sherwin Olimpo of PSME Toastmasters who also conducted the Prepared Speech Segment followed by the presentation of the educational module entitled “WIIFY” by Rajesh VC, - District Club Growth Director and one of the District Trio. The second segment saw the best of the impromptu speaking with the guidance of veteran Toastmaster Sunny C. Lype of RCS Toastmasters.
The third segment, the Evaluation Speeches was presented by Muhamad Hashir of Galfar Toastmaster Club. Other role players are: Mazher Hussain – Timer (Galfar Toastmasters), Joel Lara – Grammarian (PSME Toastmaster), Sheilu Manantan – Ah Counter (PQASS Toastmasters Club) and Abhijit Shankar – Listener (Galfar Toastmaster). Speakers were Frances Bue (PSME Toastmasters) and Anil Prakash (Galfar Toastmaster) while evaluators were Rajeshwar Rao (Galfar Toastmasters) and Rey Castillo (PSME Toastmasters Club).
