Officials announcing the partnership between ASPIRE4SPORT 2013 and The Peninsula and Al Sharq.

DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation yesterday named The Peninsula and Al Sharq official newspapers for the ASPIRE4SPORT 2013 Congress and Exhibition, which will take place from November 16 to 19 at Aspire Dome.

In its fourth year of sustained growth, ASPIRE4SPORT is the leading regional platform for businesses, sports entities, athletes and decisionmakers to discover latest sport products, services, and technologies while discussing hot-button industry trends and topics.

Commenting on the new partnership, Hamad Saif Buhindi, Executive Director of ASPIRE4SPORT, said: “We are excited to welcome The Peninsula as our event’s official English newspaper. We believe The Peninsula has what it takes to provide great support for ASPIRE4SPORT.”

ASPIRE4SPORT 2013 has established itself as the gateway to the sports industry in the region, and in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, the event aims at becoming the leader of the flourishing industry on an international level.

In 2012, over 170 companies from 20 countries participated in the exhibition.

Through the use of purpose-built business to business meeting rooms, the companies held over 250 scheduled discussions with key stakeholders from the region’s sports industries, including the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Qatar Olympic Committee, UAE Olympic Committee and Aspire Zone Foundation.

In addition, the B2B online matchmaking forum witnessed great success that contributed to the overall growth of the sports industry in the region.

Organisers also announced the Coliseum Summit, focusing on stadium design and architecture and infrastructure requirements of major sporting events like the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Coliseum Summit will bring together stakeholders involved in the planning, development, and execution of facilities in the sports industry, from city planning councils to sports venues professionals.

The summit is a conference and networking event dedicated to challenges and solutions related to the sports venue sector around the world. Part of the event is an international conference with exclusive presentations, case studies and interactive panel discussions.

Increasingly, ASPIRE4SPORT is being used as a forum for launching new sports technologies, announcing tenders and signing agreements.

The world-renowned Aspire Dome will again host what has been established as the region’s premiere sports industry event.

ASPIRE4SPORT 2013 has about 15,000sqm exhibition space and expects 3,000 delegates and global sports celebrities at 50 thought-leading forums.

Meanwhile, Jaber Al Harami, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Media and Publication at Dar Al Sharq and Editor-in-Chief of Al Sharq newspaper welcomed the decision for selecting Al Sharq and The Peninsula to cover the event of ASPIRE4SPORT Congress and Exhibition.

Al Harami also thanked the Supreme Committee for Organising ASPIRE4SPORT-2013 activities for trusting in both newspapers to make partnership.

“It is a beginning of our partnership that will cater to the community in all fields,” said Al Harami. He praised achievements by the Qatar international sports conference, despite the fact that it is new in the field. The conference helped upgrade the sports system.

Dar Al Sharq is proud of supporting such wonderful sport initiatives that serve the interests of citizens and expatriates.

“ASPIRE4SPORT is a matter of creativity and proud for people in Qatar. We wish success of the event so it could make good name for Qatar,” said Al Harami.
