Doha: Qatar will host the World Social Security Forum (WSSF) from November 10 to 15.
To be attended by more than 120 delegates, the forum represents the most important international gathering for policymakers and leaders in the field of social security and retirement and security insurance affairs.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani will open the forum organised by International Social Security Association and General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority.
The Minister of Finance H E Ali Sharif Al Emadi said the forum is important for its direct inter-relation with economic, financial and developmental affairs considering that security systems constitute a major component of the modern economy as the total general expenditure on social security is about 22 percent of GDP of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development.
