DOHA: Qatar Charity (QC) sponsored the first conference to support development in Syria, held in Istanbul on Friday in coordination with Al Sham Islamic Association.
QC announced a donation of QR5m for implementation of development projects in the country.
The conference aimed to support the shift towards humanitarian development in the country, allow communities to become self-sufficient, and enhance their cohesion and steadfastness in the face of humanitarian challenges.
A QC delegation included Sheikh Abdullah Al Saada, Director, Food Security Programmes, Mohammed Adrdor, Director, Disaster Preparedness and Response, Abdul Rabi bin Sahraa, Associate Director, Planning and International Cooperation, and Mohammed Komni, Coordinator for Syrian Relief, based in Rihaniyya on the Syrian-Turkish border.
