DOHA: Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), yesterday said it had raised over QR2m for Palestinian children from ‘Elevate to Educate’ charity challenge.
Twelve Qatari volunteers climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya, Africa’s highest mountain. They included Maryam Al Thani, Asma Al Thani, Noor Al Thani, Bashaer Al Mulla, Dana Al Anzy, Aisha Al Naama, Mohammed Al Naama, Yacoub Alyacoub, Nasser bin Marzook, Bader Elmadani, Mohammed Fakhro, and Yazan Abughaida. The trip was led by the official ambassador of ROTA, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani, a seasoned mountaineer and the first Qatari to reach Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain.
“The young volunteers climbed the highest mountain in Africa to help secure quality education for their brothers and sisters in Palestine. We will now do everything in our power to support their courage and positive spirit by ensuring that their efforts have a lasting and meaningful impact.”
