DOHA: The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage is making plans to re-introduce the Qatar Cultural Festival soon.
“We hope to re-introduce the festival and a committee will make suggestions on activities for it,” the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari told a press conference yesterday.
The festival was last held in 2010.
It is a big event of its kind and showcases the cultural aspects of the country and the region.
It includes music, poetry, theatre and dance to promote Qatar’s heritage and culture.
“We have seen cultural development in the country and the region. The festival will showcase Arab and Qatari culture,” said Dr Al Kuwari.
