Kuwait: GCC countries have eventually decided to have a unified police force to help boost their internal security. The regional police force will have its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, GCC Secretary-General Dr Abdullateef bin Rashid Al Zayani, said, QNA reported yesterday.
The ministers of interior of GCC states yesterday gave green signal to the proposal to set up a common police force, Al Zayani added. The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani attended the meeting in Kuwait.
A study was conducted by the interior ministries of the GCC on the proposal to set up unified police force after the GCC leaders at one of their Summits approved it.The Peninsula
