Doha: The construction of Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park is well under way in The Business Park compound situated along the Airport Road. Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park will be its first chain in Qatar, where the hotel management agreement was signed in the second quarter of 2013 between Sheikh Mohammed Hamad Abdullah Jassim Al Thani (the owner) and InterContinental Hotels Group (the operator).
Alan Watts, COO of IHG for Asia & MEA, attended the ground breaking ceremony of this 320-key room hotel, together with client representative and executive manager of Trans Orient Hotels, Fathi Aburish. Also present in the ceremony were Pascal Gauvin, COO of IHG for India & MEA; Bander Harbi, VP for Operations – IHG Saudi Arabia, UAE & Qatar; Andreas Pfister, Area General Manager of IHG Qatar; and Savino Leone, General Manager of Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park.
The Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park will be an addition to the ongoing growth of chains of business for Trans Orient Hotels. The Hotel, which is set to open its doors in the second quarter of 2016, will also feature a ballroom – by far, the largest in the country - a number of meeting rooms, three restaurants, fitness centre, swimming pool and spa.  The hotel is situated in The Business Park compound, along with its sister hotel Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park, and just 2km from Hamad International Airport.
