Khartoum: An officer and nine other soldiers of the Sudanese army's Rapid Support Forces were killed last night in clashes in the northern Darfur region of Mustariaha.
The official Sudan's news agency (SUNA) quoted spokesman for the rapid support forces Colonel Abdul Rahim al-Jaali as saying that a commander and nine soldiers were killed when they were ambushed in Mustariaha, north of the Darfur region, during clashes.
The clashes resulted in the death of the Commander and nine others, pointing out that the rapid support forces are still chasing the attackers, and will continue to collect weapons.
The Sudanese authorities announced on 6 August that civilians must surrender their weapons, ammunition and unlicensed vehicles to the nearest military or police point without delay.
