Doha: Turkish journalist and author Feyza Gümüşlüoğlu, who specialises on the Gulf, published her new book titled ‘Notes from the Gulf’, a first comprehensive book on the Gulf region in Turkish.

Feyza Gumusluoglu, who lived in Qatar for six years and worked as a journalist, has compiled her Gulf experience into a book.

Gümüşlüoğlu worked as the Gulf representative and the Doha correspondent for the Anadolu news agency, Turkey’s official news agency. She also worked as a senior reporter for The Peninsula.

She described her latest book as a study aimed at understanding the past and present of the Gulf region which has not been studied very well in Turkey.

Published by Mana Publishing House in Turkey, the first chapter of the book presents the economic and political history of the Gulf states from pearl fishing to the oil economy. In the second chapter, the author's some articles and analyses about various topics about the Gulf that have been published in different newspapers accompany this historical background.

The author picked a cover picture showing a traditional boat ‘dhow’ and the Doha skyline in the background for her recently published book.

In 2013, the author published her first book titled 'Being Opponent in Syria’, which she has written in Qatar about the life stories of prominent Syrian political figures.
