MES students participating in an activity held to mark National Education Day of India.
Doha: MES has observed National Education Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and for his exemplary contributions to education by significantly raising awareness about the importance of literacy among the people of India.
The Junior Section of MES Indian School conducted a special assembly via zoom platform recently. Students of Class II hosted the programme for Class I-IV with Saira Shaheen Shah anchoring and Fathima Shameer reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
As a mark of reverence and gratitude towards the great educational leader, children from Class II dressed up like India’s first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and designed posters on the topic ‘The Importance of Literacy’.
Students learned the importance of celebrating ‘World Literacy Day’ by actively participating in various activities. Limy Niyas, a teacher from the Junior Section. coordinated the programme.
