Ooredoo Marathon participants can register through website

DOHA: Interested competitors for the Ooredoo Marathon to be held on January 10, 2014, could get information at the Landmark Mall from today.
Competitors have been advised to check the Ooredoo website at http://www.ooredoo.qa/en/marathon for more information or they can visit Landmark Mall between 10am and 10pm until January 3, 2014.
Ooredoo have confirmed that 100 percent of all registration fees for the Ooredoo Marathon will be donated to the charity Reach Out To Asia.
Number of registered participants for the Ooredoo Marathon is expected to exceed last year’s total, with hundreds already registered and more anticipated as the registration deadline approaches.
Registered competitors will be given a race pack near the Museum of Islamic Art car park on the day of the race and will receive a certificate and medal on completion of their course.
The event which features courses for all abilities of runners including a 10km run, half-marathon, full marathon and special children’s 1km fun run aims to raise a substantial amount for the non-profit organisation Reach Out To Asia.
The event which is organised and sponsored by Ooredoo, is part of the companies new 2014 sports campaign which aims to encourage more people to get involved in sportsand inspire Qatar’s future sporting champions.
Marathon spectators are requested to stand by the Corniche walkway at the Museum of Islamic Art or at the Sheraton hotel. 
You can also stand by the many checkpoints known as ‘Sports Stations’ which will be positioned every 2km and hold cold water and first aid for the runners.
This year’s marathon will begin at 7 am from the Museum of Islamic Art Park in Doha. Competitors are asked to be there 30 minutes before the start time.
