DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has finished allocating land for agriculture and entertainment projects, Al Sharq has reported.
The Central Municipal Council (CMC) has urged authorities to implement the Green Belt project, as part of a urban strategy.
The council also sought a timetable for the project which will be implemented in different municipalities.
It stressed that the project is important as it would prevent dust, reduce humidity in desert areas and help check desertification.
The CMC also demanded that the ministry establish a special panel to supervise and implement the project according to the plan.
