A horse been put through its paces at the Qatar Equestrian Federation's (QEF) Main Arena, yesterday.
Organisers of the Al Rayyan Show Jumping Championship have announced prizes for fans who turn up for the December 29-31 event to be held at Qatar Equestrian Federation's (QEF) Main Arena.
Some of the world's top names are listed to feature at the three-day event now into its second year.
Saudi Arabi's Faisal Aba Alkhail, compatriot Abdullah Faris Abaalkhail and Frenchman Nivinne Abelard are confirmed riders.
According to Mohammed Morshed Al Enizi, the Director of Public Relations at QEF, yesterday confirmed 'spectacular surprises for fans' who will visit the Main Arena for the three-day event.
The forthcoming event will be the second top show jumping championship to be held at the same venue.
Last week QEF staged the Qatar International Show Jumping Championship that was clinched by Demir Demirsoy of Turkey. Demirsoy won the Grand Prix - the feature class at the QR1.34m tournament. Al Enizi said Qatar's Olympic Games squad will also feature at the December 29-31 event.
"We have arranged for special fan zones around the QEF's Main Arena. Kids Zones have also been set up inside the compound. We saw amazing crowds last week and we expect a similar turnout later this week," Al Enizi said yesterday.
"From our side, all the arrangements have been finalised and all the riders are already in town," he said.
This week's top event is worth QR 1.4m to the riders.
"Show jumping has mass following in Qatar. This event will go a long way in continuing with that tradition," he said.
The winner on the last day of event will walk way QR650,000 richer.
