DOHA: The proposed national insurance company which will supervise implementation of the mandatory health insurance scheme is expected to be set up in three months.
The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) is currently finlalising procedures for implementation of the insurance scheme that will cover all the citizens, residents and visitors to the country.
The national company will determine the role of the private and public sectors in the insurance scheme, the premium and health services to be provided under the scheme, Al Sharq reported yesterday. Implementation of the scheme has been delayed because the SCH is conducting a study on 200 health care facilities to evaluate their potential to implement the scheme, said the daily.
