DOHA: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the partial, temporary closure of the Jaidah flyover in Musheireb area from tomorrow. The closure will be in two phases to complete renovation and maintenance works on the flyover.
The east bound lane of the flyover going towards Musheireb area will be closed from tomorrow for two weeks. Motorists coming from Jabor Bin Ahmed Intersection (Ramada Signal) and Salwa Road will have to use the ground level through Musheireb interchange located below the flyover. In the second phase, the east bound lane going towards the Musheireb area will be open and the west bound lane of the flyover going towards Ramada Signal and the Industrial Area will be closed for two weeks starting February 15.
Vehicles heading to Salwa Road and the Industrial Area will be required to use the ground level through Musheireb Interchange.
The maintenance works will include replacing the asphalt layer over the flyover and upgrading the structure to accommodate the increasing traffic in the area. .
Signs have been installed in the area to give clear directions to the commuters, Ashghal said.
