Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday met the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who is in Doha on a several days’ visit. They discussed relations and means of bolstering them as well as issues of common interest. The President arrived in Doha on Sunday.
Doha: Qatar welcomed the ratification of the new Tunisian constitution by its constituent assembly. A Foreign Ministry official told Qatar News Agency yesterday that the step was historic and will have great impact on Tunisia’s security and stability. The source added that it was also an important step towards establishing democratic institutions that guarantee basic rights.
Doha: The Advisory Council yesterday held its weekly session under Speaker Mohammad bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi. It reviewed the decree law No. 13 for 2013 amending some provisions of the decree law No. 5 for 1965 on the identity cards and decided to refer it to the Internal and Foreign Affairs Committee. It also discussed the decree law No. 14 for 2013 to abolish the law of public bodies and institutions promulgated by Law No. 26 for 2004, and the decree law No. 15 for 2013 amending some provisions of Law No. 4 for 2008 on rents of real estates and decided to refer the decree laws to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee.
DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is preparing to launch home care services for children with complications and needed long-term care. The service being implemented at an experimental basis will be officially launched soon. Children on wheelchair and seeking continued medical care will benefit from it, Al Sharq reported. The service will be extended to children with incurable diseases. Special home care units are likely to be introduced at HMC hospitals and healthcare experts will visit homes. The Home Healthcare Services were introduced at HMC in 2009, and are being implemented in three stages. Services are initially implemented for the elderly.
