DOHA: The General Directorate of Civil Defence conducted a mock drill at Qatargas Tower in Dafna with participation of security staff in the building.
The exercise started after Civil Defence received information about a mock fire in one of the offices in the 52-storey building.
A firefighting and rescue team from Civil Defence in Wadi Sail Centre rushed to the site for rapid intervention.
The team and security staff evacuated the building and guided employees to the safe assembly point, through emergency exits.
An ambulance and Al Fazaa Police also participated.
The drill was supervised by Brig. Hamad Othman Al Dohaimi, Director, Operations Department, Civil Defence.
He said the exercise was part of a plan to create awareness about safety measures and train staff of various institutions on how to address risks during a fire. The Peninsula
