DOHA: The Accreditation Department of the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) at the Supreme Council of Health recently organised a two-day workshop on introducing a framework for Continuous Medical Education(CME)/Continuous Professional Development(CPD) in Qatar.
The event held in association with Partners Healthcare International an affiliate of the US-based Harvard Medical School involved top officials of the leading healthcare organisations and academic institutions in the country.  CME/CPD plays an important role in the professional development of healthcare practitioners which reflects in the long term on the provision of quality healthcare services to patients.
The CME/CPD mandatory participation policy will be implemented in Qatar effective from January 2016, the SCH said yesterday.
An international medical education expert Professor Hans Thomas Aretz conducted the workshop.
