DUBAI: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has ruled that 97 Emiratis be exempt from paying back housing loans, worth a total of Dhs28.5 million, due to reasons including low income, retirement, death and disability, reported a local daily.
Sami Gargash, chief executive of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, said the establishment will bear responsibility for the loans. Sheikh Mohammed’s order reflects his firm approach in placing citizens’ needs on top of the government’s priorities, Mr Gargash said.
