Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' illegal decision to seize 15 homes in Silwan town in occupied Jerusalem and forcibly displace Palestinian families, in preparation for handing the properties over to settler organizations.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Secretariat warned of the gravity of these unlawful measures, describing them as an escalation in policies of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities, aimed at altering the Arab identity, Palestinian presence, and demographic composition of occupied Jerusalem.
It stressed that all Israeli occupation decisions, annexation plans, settlement activities, and attempts to impose alleged Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank are null and void and have no legal validity under international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The Secretariat also renewed its call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and put an end to all violations and crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the occupied Palestinian territory.
