Lahore: Unknown assailants blew up a 30-inch gas pipeline, which resulted in suspension of gas supplies to several cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Shaikhupura and Gujrat.
Accordingly, all the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations were closed in Punjab yesterday after the explosion targeted the gas pipeline near Kashmore, Dawn News reported.
The provision of gas was suspended after Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) turned off the supply to CNG stations and industries.
An SNGPL spokesman said the company suspended supply to CNG stations and industries so gas needed for domestic consumption could be supplied without interruption.
Earlier, on March 27, unknown miscreant blew up a gas pipeline with explosives, disrupting supply to various areas of the port city of Karachi.
