Doha: Aspire Academy hosted this week a parent meeting for grade levels 10, 11 and 12, where parents met with the Academy’s teachers and coaches to discuss enhancing means of collaboration in support of the academic and athletic performance of the Academy’s student-athletes.

The meeting also helped the Academy’s teachers and coaches communicate their expectations of the student-athletes, build close rapport with the parents and boost trust with the local community.
Commenting on the meeting, Ahmed Hussein, Vice-Principal at Aspire Academy said: “One of the goals from such meetings is to reinforce the dialogue between parents and the teaching faculty at Aspire Academy, which contributes positively towards the performance of our student-athletes as it helps identify areas of strength as well as areas of improvement”.
He added: “We have received positive feedback from parents regarding the positive attitudes of their sons towards their studies, which affirms our efforts to provide a positive learning environment for our students. The continuity of these meetings has supported the positive development of our student-athletes, and enhanced dialogue between parents and teachers”.
Nasser Al Meraisi, a parent of one of the Academy’s student-athletes, commented on how these meetings give parents a chance to find out in more detail about the performance of their son, whether from the academic, athletic or behavioural aspects. He also made note of how his son’s performance has improved from one meeting to the other, which he attributed partly to parent meetings, given that they facilitate the opportunity for parents to learn more about how they can support the positive development of their sons.
Aspire Academy regularly organises such meetings to provide opportunities to keep parents updated regarding the performance and progress of its students and the steps being taken in support of the Academy’s mission to develop Qatar’s future generation of elite athletes.
