Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received congratulations from several world leaders on assuming power.
The cables of congratulations were received from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Comoros President Ikililou Dhoinine, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Mauritanian President Mohammed Ould Abdel Aziz, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav, and Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid.
The Emir received similar cables from Tunisia’s Constituent Assembly President Mustapha Ben Jaafar, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Arab League Secretary General Nabil El Araby, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.
Emir greets presidents on National Days
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent cables of congratulations to a number of president on their National Days yesterday.
The Emir sent the cables to Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Mozambique President Armando Emílio Guebuza, Croatian President Ivo Josipovic and Slovenian President Borut Pahor.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has also sent similar cables.
Advisory Council adjourned
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued decree No. 30 for 2013 adjourning the 41st ordinary session of the Advisory Council as of Sunday, the 28th of Sha’aban 1434 AH, corresponding to July 7, 2013.
The decree is to be published in the official gazette.
Emir meets GCC Secretary General
Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday met GCC Secretary General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and his delegation at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. Al Zayani was in Doha to offer his congratulations to the Emir.
Father Emir receives call from UN Chief
Doha: The Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday received a phone call from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to offer congratulations on the occasion of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani assuming power. QNA
