Heroin capsules seized from six passengers.
DOHA: In a huge drug haul, airport security personnel seized 10 kilogrammes and 202 capsules of heroin at Doha International Airport from six Arab and African nationals, according to a statement released yesterday by the Ministry of Interior.
Airport Security Department staff became suspicious about six passengers who had arrived by different flights.
Their luggage was searched, but nothing suspicious was found.
Unconvinced, the staff frisked the suspects and inspected their belongings, and narcotic substances were found.
On interrogation, the passengers confessed to carrying narcotic substances.
Legal action has been initiated and the suspects have been referred to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
