Doha: As part of its ongoing Ramadan 2013 Project, Reach Out To Asia (Rota) hosted a photo exhibition fundraising iftar sponsored by Occidental Petroleum Corporation and supported by Mathaf Museum of Modern Art, with proceeds donated to support Rota’s Student Scholarship Programme in Indonesia.

The second edition of the Rota Photo Exhibition Fundraising Iftar took place at Mathaf Museum of Modern Art on 25th July as Rota invited its corporate and community partners to share Iftar and take part in a silent auction of framed photographs taken by volunteers during Rota activities.

Experts from the Mathaf Museum of Modern Art assisted with planning the layout of the photo exhibition and coordinated the mounting and presentation of the exhibition.

Auction items featured photographs taken by Rota volunteers engaged in local and international volunteer activities and provided Fundraising Iftar guests with an opportunity to see Rota projects through the eyes of those engaged in the field.

“Over the past few years, Rota partners have always demonstrated incredible corporate responsibility and generosity. By taking part in our fundraising iftar, our partners have brought hope of a better future for hundreds of Indonesian students,” says Rota Executive Director Essa Al Mannai.

Rota’s Scholarships programme has been active since 2008 and is administered and run through in-country local partner in Indonesia — the Titian Foundation. Rota’s Scholarships create opportunities for disadvantaged youth that would otherwise drop out of school due to financial constraints, to complete secondary education. The Peninsula
