Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 20.80 points, or 0.22 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,563.08 points.
Trading value during the week decreased marginally by 0.19 percent to reach QR1.10bn.
Trading volume decreased by 5.94 percent to reach 37.53 million shares, as against 39.91 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 9.05 percent, to reach 15,796 transactions as compared to 14,485 transactions.
Market cap rose by 0.06 percent to reach QR517.28bn as compared to QR516.99bn at the end of previous week.
The Banking and Financial Services sector led trading value this week with 29.51 percent of the total trading value. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 20.90 percent. The Industrials sector accounted for 19.66 percent, and Telecoms sector accounted 12.54 percent.
The Telecoms sector led trading volume this week with 31.13 percent of the total trading volume. Banks and Financial Services sector accounted for 22.90 percent. The Industrials sector accounted for 17.68 percent, and Real Estate sector accounted for 13.37 percent.
The Banking and Financial Services sector led trading number of transactions this week with 29.97 percent of the total number of transactions. Industrials sector accounted for 18.71 percent. The Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 15.28 percent, and Real Estate sector accounted for 13.15 percent. Out of the 44 listed companies 18 companies ended last week higher, while 26 fell.
The Al Meera Consumer Goods led trading value during the week accounting for 13.31 percent of the total trading value, Gulf International Services accounted for 9.75 percent and the QNB accounted for 9.67 percent, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 20.70 points, 0.22 percent yesterday compared to previous day. The volume of shares traded increased yesterday to 6.36 million from 6.17 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR155.69m from QR199.61m on Wednesday.
Out of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 40 saw trading yesterday. Of these 14 gained; 25 companies closed lower, and one remained unchanged, yesterday.
