Prime Minister joins GCC foreign ministers' consultative meeting via video conference

Doha, Qatar: The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, participated in a consultative meeting convened by the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, via video conference.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on developments in the current phase, updates on ongoing negotiations, and efforts exerted to advance them toward practical understandings that contribute to reducing tensions and enhancing an environment of regional security and stability.

The ministers also discussed ways to intensify coordination and consultation among the Council’s member states regarding issues related to freedom of navigation and its safety in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring rights of passage and transit, and the smooth flow of ships, trade, and supplies, in accordance with the provisions of international law, while preserving the sovereign rights of all the Gulf states.

Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers affirmed, during the meeting, the importance of continuing joint efforts, prioritizing political and diplomatic approaches, and creating favourable conditions for building trust and reaching solutions acceptable to all parties.
