KARACHI: Pakistan’s government has paid $393m as part repayment of its loan facility with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a central bank spokesman said.
“The amount is equivalent to 258 million special drawing rights (SDR) that was paid to the IMF under the stand-by arrangement programme (SBA) loan facility,” the spokesman added. This is one of the biggest SBA loan repayments made to the IMF in the month of August.
