DOHA: Social media activists in the Qatari community have now trained their guns on Qatar University.
A campaign has been launched on Twitter titled ‘#What’s Happening at Qatar University’, with Tweeters claiming citizens, both students and faculty members, are being discriminated against by the university administration while foreigners are being encouraged and promoted.
Qatari faculty members are being targeted and removed and foreigners being pampered. Foreign teachers are being assigned administrative positions so they don’t have to teach, Tweeters said, indicating the campaign might get bitter in the days to come.
Qatar University could not be immediately contacted for comment.
