Dust storm likely today, mercury set to rise

DOHA: A dust storm is likely today with wind moving at speeds ranging from 19km an hour to 38km an hour and at times reaching up to 46km.
By night, however, high wind would likely to subside with speed coming down to 18km an hour.
The weather forecast issued by the Met office for today said high wind is expected and slight to blowing dust (at places) could be expected. Al Sharq, however, said a dust storm was likely in the day today and gave no further details except that coastal areas and the seas could also be affected.
Visibility will be low — three km initially and later improving to four to eight km.
Day temperatures were relatively low yesterday, but today they are likely to soar to 45 degrees C in Doha. In Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Dukhan and Messaieed, the maximum temperature forecast is 43 degrees C.
Night will be relatively cooler in places like Al Wakrah and Messaieed, with mercury levels dropping down to 29 degrees C. In Abu Samra, the minimum temperature forecast is 28 degrees C, while in Doha, 34 degrees C. The warning for the sea-goers for today is high wind and high seas to the north.
