Seoul: South Korea and US are set to commence on Monday the second round of the joint military maneuvers between the two countries dubbed "Ulchi Freedom Shield".
In a statement of the Ministry of National Defense of South Korea quoted by Yonhap News Agency, the ministry said the joint military maneuvers are intended to strengthen the capability of counter-attack, in addition to carrying out counter-offensive operations, adding that the maneuvers will start on Monday and will continue until Sep. 1, 2022.
The second -round trainings not only include military command center trainings based on computer simulation, but will rather encompass the actual field military maneuvers. An official from Korean military authorities clarified that the defensive-nature maneuvers intend to ensure the safety of the Korean soils in response to the hostile acts
