More rains likely today

Doha: Some parts of the country received scattered rains yesterday, marking the transition from summer to spring. The weathermen has forecast more rains today. Al Shamal and its neighbouring areas witnessed moderate to heavy rains.

In other areas such as Jamilia and Al Sulaimi, scattered rains caused water logging.

Many youngsters, excited by what may be the end of summer, took pictures in the rain and posted them on social networking sites.

No rains were reported in the Doha city, but the weather remained partly cloudy in the evening yesterday.

The Meteorology Department has forecast cloudy weather today, with chances of rain and thunder in some areas. The northeasterly to southeasterly winds would blow at speeds ranging from three to-12/ 15. The temperature is expected to see a slight rise today, hovering between 29 and 37 degrees Celsius.
