Doha: Dr Mohammed Sultan Al Darwish, Prosthodontist and Dental Implantologist at Al Wakra Hospital, has been elected Vice Chairman of the Oral Health Group at the World Federation of Public Health Associations.
He was named to the post after elections held recently at the head office of the Federation.
Dr Al Darwish obtained his PhD in Dental Public Health from University of Gloucestershire in Britain. He is the first Qatari to obtain a high level of expertise in dental and oral health. His thesis was on ‘Dental caries, oral health and lifestyle variables among schoolchildren in Qatar’.
The Public Health Associations was established in 1967. The Oral Health Group aims to create an alliance for a “cavity-free future”.
