KABUL: At least three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed in separate Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks in the past 24 hours.
Spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD), Gen. Zahir Azimi said at least two Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed following IED attack and direct enemy fire.
He said another Afghan soldier was martyred early on Tuesday in eastern Khost following an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack.
Gen. Azimi further added another soldier was also injured following the incident which took place Yaqoobi area of Khost province.
In the meantime, Azimi said Afghan National Army (ANA) forces conducted military operations in two different provinces in the past 24 hours.
According to Gen. Azimi, at least six militants were killed during the operations and various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives, including 60 rounds of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) were seized.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far. (QNA)
