DOHA: Continuing expansion in Africa, Qatar Airways (QA) yesterday announced the launch of services to Djibouti, which began this week.
It started the three-times-weekly flights from Hamad International Airport to Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport, marking the airline’s 145th global destination.
Addressing ministers, ambassadors, officials and travel trade partners during the inaugural event in Djibouti, QA Vice- President, Africa, Jared Lee, said: “Djibouti presents a great opportunity as the country has huge appeal for many with its natural resources and tourist attractions. “QA is delighted to give business travellers and tourists who wish to visit Djibouti, and the people of Djibouti, an additional route to and from this destination.”
QA also celebrated the launch with a community initiative to support the building of an elementary school – Al Amal — in Djibouti. Through the school, QA will contribute to the community, helping provide children with educational opportunities and assisting them to become valued members of the global community. The Peninsula
