DOHA: Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd (Tasweeq) hosted for the fifth consecutive year, its annual dinner reception for global customers in Singapore on October 1, 2014.
In his welcoming speech, Tasweeq CEO Saad Al Kuwari said, “I believe now Tasweeq is well known as one of the largest exporters of petroleum products in the world. This achievement would not have been possible without the strong and collective support of our customers in Asia.”
Al Kuwari highlighted some of Tasweeq’s achievements in 2013,particularly that Tasweeq had successfully exported over 210 million tonnes of regulated products (including LPG, condensates, transportation fuels and naphtha) in addition to 700 million barrels of crude.
Al Kuwari also explained the benefits that GTL naphtha and blended GTL-jet can bring to the clients’ value-chain. GTL Naphtha is the finest feedstock for a petrochemical cracker. It has no impurities and almost completely paraffinic.
As for GTL blended jet, studies have shown that this synthetic blend component — GTL kerosene — contains virtually zero Sulphur and has been shown to produce lower particulate emissions (very fine soot particles) than conventional crude oil-derived jet fuel. This means that once blended with conventional jet fuel to create GTL Jet Fuel, it can be attractive to airlines and airport authorities keen to improve local air quality at busy airports by reducing local emissions.
Al Kuwari concluded by acknowledging the guidance and continuous support of our Board of Directors, chaired by the Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada. He also recognised the dedication and commitment of Tasweeq’s employees and customers.
The reception was attended by top executives of major oil and gas companies, traders, shipping entities and government bodies that are business associates of Tasweeq.
Tasweeq team included senior directors of QP Marketing, Marketing & Shipping, Planning and Administration directorates, as well as the team from the Tasweeq’s Singapore Subsidiary Office. Tasweeq) (Asia) Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary company and serves as Tasweeq’s liaison office for customers based in Asia. The office is located in the heart of Singapore’s financial and business district.
